“As a female ceramicist, I find comfort in knowing that my creations will endure, telling stories to those who come after me. My grandmother, who was an artist in her own right, created larger-than-life quilts, clothes, and other well-known handicrafts. I fondly remember exploring her collection of fabrics and sorting through her many paper dolls and pattern books, soaking in the intricate designs. The enchanting imagery of classic pinup girls serves as a significant source of
inspiration, tracing back to my childhood memories of my grandfather’s eye- catching biker shirts. I lovingly recreate vibrant visuals inspired by my grandparents, weaving in bright colors and bold patterns that adorn the surfaces of my work. The fashion and playful poses from those vintage ads and fabrics have left an indelible mark on my artistic vision, transforming my pieces into a celebration of nostalgia and a recognition of the portrayal of women, both yesterday and today.”
